Primary Purpose:

The Manager of Teacher Incentives & Pathways (MTIP) plays a key role in attracting, engaging, and retaining teacher talent by managing Uplift’s teacher incentive and pathways programs. The MTIP reports into the Senior Director of Talent Development and Pathways and is a member of the People Team. The MTIP works closely with other members of the People Team, campus leaders, and teachers in executing our teacher incentive programs and connecting them to our teacher pathways in a way that enhances our efforts to attract, engage, and retain top teacher talent. 

Note: This is a partial grant funded position, and employment is contingent upon the availability of TIA funds.
 

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Work in close partnership with the Senior Director of Talent Development and Pathways to set the vision and drive direction of teacher reward, recognition, and pathways across Uplift.
  • Fully own end-to-end program management of Uplift’s teacher incentive programs which include but are not limited to Uplift’s bonus program and Uplift’s participation in the state performance pay program (the Teacher Incentive Allotment).
  • Work in close partnership with Finance, Talent Management Operations, and Data teams to ensure teacher incentive pay is communicated, documented, and administered with fidelity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with external partners and authorities, including TEA, to ensure Uplift remains in high esteem and full compliance.
  • Research and stay up to date with best-in-class practices for teacher evaluation and performance pay systems.
  • Manage strategic working groups across Uplift’s CMO and campuses and drive key inputs forward (with key stakeholders from Finance, Compliance, Human Resources, Academics, Analytics team members).
  • Build knowledge of and investment in Uplift’s teacher incentives by creating learning opportunities, strong communication channels, and high-quality resources for both teachers and leaders.
  • Ensure all inputs to teacher incentives are monitored, executed, and continuously improved, including the teacher observation framework and student growth and achievement metrics.
  • Manage roll-out of newly added teacher groups into the Teacher Incentive Allotment program.
  • Support the creation, management, and execution towards full implementation of teacher pathways at Uplift.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate Uplift’s teacher incentives with Uplift’s teacher career pathways.
  • Work closely with the People Leadership Team and other functional leaders to reinforce the merits of Uplift’s ongoing talent initiatives.

Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A./ B.S.) from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree or higher in education or related field preferred. 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred; classroom and leadership experience in the K12 setting highly preferred.

Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and use the wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time.

Starting Salary: $65,000
